Anise Gates, 78, of Columbus passed away Monday March 3 at 9:41 pm at her home.
She was a cashier trainer and was employed by different grocery stores for many years. She enjoyed bible study group and loved flowers and gardening.
The funeral will be Friday March 7, 2008 at 11:00 am at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with George Plantz officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-8:00 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Columbus. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central

Born May 15, 1929 in Elizabethtown, IN, Mrs. Gates was the daughter of Benjamin and Sarah E. Moffitt Skinner. She married George E. Gates on October 14, 1946. He passed away in July of 1994.
Survivors include; daughters, Pat(Dave) Robertson of Hope, Betty(Woody) Woodaman of Poway, California and Carole Maines of Indianapolis; a son, Tim (Nata) Gates of Columbus; sisters, Thelma Land of Seymour and LaVonne Taylor and Iva Sorgius of Columbus; grandchildren, Aaron Robertson of Hope, Chris and Jason(Lauren) Maines of Colorado, Eric(Amber) Robertson of Flat Rock, Lisa(Brian) King of Missouri, Scott(Vicki) Gates of North Vernon, Ryan(Melissa) and Luke Woodaman of California and Sarah Gates of Columbus; great grandchildren, Kyra and Kynzee Gates, Reese and Kyla Robertson, Brandon and Briann King, Mattie Schornick and Jacob Barger.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Gates was preceded in death by her parents;
brothers, Ralph, Chester, Howard and Woodrow Skinner and a sister, Ruth Lankey.
