Anna Maye Swift Couch, 88, of Columbus, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Born on February 23, 1938 in Bartholomew County, Anna was the daughter of Dewey and Eliza Jane Cook Swift. She retired from Dolly Madison Bakery after being employed for many years.

She was a member of Revival Full Gospel Tabernacle in Clifford and had previously attended Who So Ever Will Community Church. She regularly attended church and was involved in many bible studies throughout the years.

Anna enjoyed reading, traveling, and doing puzzles. She loved spending her time talking on the phone with friends and visiting with neighbors.

Survivors include her daughter, Brenda (Christopher) Beach of Columbus; grandson, Jeffery Tilson of Columbus; nieces, Jennifer Swift Gates of Columbus, Sandra (Herman) Wall of Columbus, and Lisa Heck of Taylorsville; and nephew, Brian (Rhonda) Heck of Franklin.

Anna is preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Gladys Marie Swift, Alice Faye Heck, and Carolyn June Swift.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 13 at 1 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home with Pastor Eli Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
