Anna Mae Land, 91 of Columbus died Wednesday November 30, 2011
at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
She retired July 15, 1982 from United Technology and had worked at Shelby
Manufacturing in Shelbyville for 22 years before that.
She attended Free Methodist Church in Columbus.
The funeral will be Saturday at 1:30 pm at Norman Funeral Home in Hope
with Rev. Albert Hendershot and Pastor Deborah Ralston officiating. Calling
will be Friday from 4 - 8 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Flat Rock Cemetery in Flat Rock, IN.
Memorial contributions may be donated to Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Born July 11, 1920 in Washington Townshipof Shelby Co., Anna was the daughter of Ralph
and Minnie Ropp Swinford. She married Clifford Land December 2, 1942 and
he preceded her in death August 13, 1968.
Survivors include a son, Charles (Anna) Land of Hope; step children, Clifford C.
Land of Shelbyville, Barbara McDaniel of Indianapolis and Gail (Albert) Hendershot of
Gnaw Bone; two grandchildren; ten step grandchildren; several great and great-great
grandchildren and a brother, Paul Swinford of Spencer.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Tom and George Swinford;
a granddaughter and a step great grandson.
