Obituary

Rev. Archie S. Kent, 94 of Hope passed away Thursday August 14 at 6: 40 a.m. at Millers's Merrry Manor at Hope. Rev. Kent served as a minister with The United Brethren Church serving at churches inAnderson, Alexandria, Rugby, Huntington, Warren, New Castle and Williamsport Indiana and Sherkston, Canada, He also had been an accountant with Candian Fairbanks-MorrisCompany in Canada. He was a graduate of Toronto Bible College and was a stamp and coin collecter. The will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Rugby United Brethren Church with theRevs. Jesse Tays and Raymond Brown officiating. Calling will be at Norman Funeral Home on Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Sunday after 1:00 p.m. Burial wiil be at Hawcreek Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Rugby United Brethren Church. Born in Toronto ,Ontario Canada he was the son of Ernest and Annie Kent. He marriedLillian Iris Whitford on September 17, 1938 in Toronto and she survives. Other survivors include daughters Rose (Paul) Law of Hope and Ruth Ann Reed of Columbus, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Rev. Kent was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Lillian Kent , a son John Kent, a brother Edward Kent and sisters Winniford Nash and Daisy Ward
