Arthur R. Hadley, 79, of Hope, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Born on June 17, 1944 in San Antonio, TX, Arthur was the son of Arthur and Audrey Barrett Hadley. He married Wanda Alford on March 19, 1944, and she preceded him in death on June 20, 2015. Arthur served in the United States Army from December 1969 to December 1970.

Arthur enjoyed reading, gardening, woodworking, photography, and his family and grandsons.

Survivors include his daughter, Beth (Josh) Grube of Seymour; grandsons, Keaton and Emmett Grube of Seymour; and brother, Bill (Jane) Hadley of Albuquerque, NM.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

The funeral will be Monday, July 31 at 12 p.m. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service on Monday. Burial will follow at Newbern Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.

In honor of Arthur and his dislike of neckties, we ask that no ties be worn to his service.
