Obituary

Betty J. Hepburn, 77 of Hope passed away Sunday September 14, 2008 at 6:10 pm at Major Hospital in Shelbyville. She was retired from being a beautician. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hope, Royal Neighbors of America and the American Quilters. She loved sewing, crafts and cooking. The funeral will be conducted Friday September 19 at 10:30 am at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Rev. Gerald Hancock officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Memorials may be donated to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Foundation. Online condolences may be sent to the Hepburn family at www.normanfuneralhome.net. Born August 6, 1931 in Shelby County, Betty was the daughter of Joseph Robert and Minnie Giles Caldwell. She married Harold Thompson in 1947 and Ellsworth "Porky" Hepburn in 1958 and they preceded her in death. Survivors include children, Freida (Ronald) Robertson, Lowell(Susan) Thompson, LouAnn(Richard) Raeder and Joey(Betsy) Hepburn all of Hope; grandchildren, Wendy(Scott) Cain, Lucretia(Doug) Johnson, Ryan(Morgan)McDaniel, Jeremy(Rachel) Robertson, Cody (Alisha) Thompson, Lindsay Thompson and Tomeka (John) Kepple; and a brother Ervin(Sally) Caldwell of Scottsburg and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Wayne Thompson and several brothers and sisters.
