Betty Jo Montgomery Deiwert, 70 of Flat Rock, passed away Sunday May 23, 2010 at 11:08 am at the St Francis Hospital in Beech Grove.
She had retired from Reliance Electric and was a CNA and a rehab assistant for Especially Kids in Shelbyville.
She was a member of the Flat Rock Order of Eastern Star. She attended First Baptist Church of Hope for many years and also had attended First Baptist Church of Hartsville for the last year.
She enjoyed fishing and gardening and especially loved being with her family and attending her grandchildren's softball games.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 am at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Pastor Tim Tallent officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. An Eastern Star Memorial Service will be conducted at 8:00 pm Tuesday. Burial will be at Norristown Cemetery.

Born on August 5, 1939 in Union Co., NC, Betty was the daughter of Captain Emsley and Dessie Mae McManus Montgomery. She married Richard Deiwert on August 10, 1985 in Hope, IN and he survives.
Also surviving are children, Joy Lynn Turner of KY, Bob Reynolds of Bloomington, IN, Deb Atkins and Valeria (Mason) Engleking, both of Hope; step sons, Dick (Dawn) Deiwert Jr. of Hope and Mike Deiwert of Flat Rock; a brother, Roy Clark (Mary) Montgomery of TN; fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, William Edward Montgomery and a sister, Mary Louise Montgomery
