C. Philip "Phil" Harrod, 70, of Flat Rock, died Saturday, February 11, 2017 at his home.
Phil retired from Cummins after 30 years. He was a member of Flat Rock Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Flat Rock Volunteer Fire Department where he had just received his pin for 50 years of service. Phil enjoyed his family and watching TV, NASCAR and sports.
Born on June 15, 1946, in Shelbyville, Phil was the son of Wallace and Loraine Stoughton Harrod. He married Linda Miller on August 8, 1966, in Shelby County, and she survives.
Other survivors include children, Angela (Frank) Witzmann of Greenwood and Andrew Harrod of Flat Rock; and grandchildren, Justin Snyder of Greenwood, Sarah Leslie of Austin, Texas and Katie Morgan of Raleigh, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with the Rev. Leslie Fix and Pastor Robert Vester officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Flat Rock Cemetery.
