Carl Raymond Artis, 67 of Clifford died Monday February 14, 2011 at his
home.
He was a retired worker of the Indiana State Highway Department.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany. He was a member
of the V.F.W. , a retired member of the Clifford Fire Dept., a former Clifford Town
Marshall, and had attended the Bartholomew County Sherriff's Academy.
He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, flea marketing, gardening and attending the County
Fairs all over Indiana.
The funeral will be Friday February 18 at 2:00 pm at Norman Funeral Home in
Hope with Rev. Eli Johnson officiating. Calling will be Thursday from 4 - 8 pm and
Friday from 12:00 until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Flat Rock
Baptist Cemetery west of Clifford with Military Graveside Rites.

Born on August 7, 1943 in Columbus, Mr. Artis was the son of Willard M. and Marie
E. Moore Artis.
Survivors include a son, Mark Artis of Columbus, a daughter, Beth Artis of Columbus;
brothers, Don (LaRita Huff) Artis of Columbus and Marvin Artis of Clifford; a niece, Angie
Artis Drake; three great nephews; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mr. Artis was preceded in death by; his parents; a brother, Robert W. Artis and a nephew
Gary Artis.
