Carolyn June Huffer, 79, a resident of Miller's Merry Manor of Hope died there at 7:33 p.m. Saturday October 12, 2013.
A resident of the Newbern area for 34 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Newbern United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, baking, all outdoor activities and loved to travel. She was a loving and devoted wife for many years.
The funeral will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. Calling will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Newbern Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be donated to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or the Alzheimer's Association.
Mrs. Huffer was born in Crothersville, August 9, 1934. She was the daughter of Harry and Lucy Acres Mackey. She married Eugene L. Huffer July 17, 1979 at their home in Columbus.
She is survived by her husband Eugene Huffer; daughters, Kimberly Taylor (Larry) of Greenwood, Pamela June Rigsby Haynes of Cornelius, NC and Alysa Rigsby Jones (Mike) of Forrest City, NC; step daughters Karen Misner (Jim) of Decatur County, Lou Ann Nyberg and Kathy Huffer of Columbus; step sons Gregory and Jeffrey Huffer of Columbus; 8 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren, and a sister, Virginia Botu of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son Samuel Rigsby.
