Obituary

Charles J. Shull, 78 of Columbus, passed away Tuesday February 5, 2008 at his home.
Charles graduated from Sandcreek High School in 1948. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after serving in Germany from 1952-1954. He worked as a maintenance supervisor at Cummins for 35 years and then for Senior Products for 10 years. He was a member of the Hope Moravian Church. He was a 48 year member of the Hartsville Masonic Lodge # 547, a member of the Hartsville Order of the Eastern Star # 550 and a member of the Order of Amaranth, Alice Ct. # 30. Charles loved camping & fishing, taking pictures, playing cards & chess, woodworking, working Bent & Wiggly puzzles and was an avid IU basketball fan. He loved his dog Nikki and he loved to help people. Everyone who knew him, loved him.
Born on November 2, 1929, in Indianapolis, Charles was the son of William Charles and Clara Redwine Shull and was the youngest of 13 children. He married Jean Wilkinson on June 26, 1949 at the Mount Pleasant Methodist Church.
The funeral will be Saturday, February 9 at 11:00 am at the Hope Moravian Church with the Rev. Kerry Krauss officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 at Norman Funeral Home with an Eastern Star service at 8.pm followed by a Masonic service at 8:15. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Indiana Masonic Home.
Charles is survived by his wife; a son, Scott(Robin) Shull of Columbus; a daughter, Jonita(David) London of Columbus; granddaughter, Amanda(Duwayne) Hutt; grandson, Jamie(Sondra) Richardson; great-grandsons, Justy Hutt, Blake & Chase Richardson, and Clayton Shireman; a brother, Bob(Lillian) Shull of Danville; and a sister, Betty(Lawrence) Bowles of Colfax.
He is preceded in death by 4 sisters and 6 brothers
