Christine Ogilvie, 86, of Columbus, passed away on Saturday October 22, 2022 at Keepsake Village of Columbus.

Born on April 25, 1936 in Decatur County, Christine was the daughter of Herschel J. and Bessie Mae Sylvia Thorpe. She married Sam Ogilvie on February 13, 1955, and he preceded her in death on April 5, 2017.

Before retirement, Christine worked in the front office for Dr. James in Hope for many years. She also worked at Dr. DeArmitt's office and at Indiana Heart Physicians. She was a member of Columbus Baptist Church.

Christine loved working with children and especially enjoyed working with the youth group at church. She also enjoyed spending her time volunteering.

Survivors include children, Gene Ogilvie of Columbus and Nadine (Mark) Rockwell of Athens, Alabama; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Christine is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sam; brother, Herschel "Bud" Thorpe; and sister, Willa Mae Norris.

A public graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26 at Garland Brook Cemetery with Pastor Chuck Kennedy officiating.
