Clara "June" Henderson, 83, of Flat Rock died peacefully in her sleep after a long batter with Cancer on June 2, 2013 with her family by her side.
She was born in Milroy, Indiana on June 22, 1929 to parents William Childers and Mildred Childers-Adams.
She married Earl Raymond Henderson on June 21, 1947. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1995.
The funeral will be on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Norman Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Calling will be on Friday, June 7, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Burial will be at Flat Rock Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer, Lewis Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, or Hospice of South Central Indiana.
She was a homemaker, beloved mother and wife and Mamaw for all her life. She and Earl loved to fish and have neighborhood fish fries. She enjoyed making crafts especially painting. She really enjoyed the chance to travel and see new places during her more recent years.
Survivors include: 2 brothers; Clifford Childers of California and Jim Childers of Oregon, son Earl Michael (Joyce) Henderson of Hope, IN, daughter Vicki Jo (Kevin) Pitts of Flat Rock, IN, grand children; Mika (Kurtis) Greenwald of Nevada, Scott (Audrey) Henderson of Florida, Jeremiah Henderson of North Vernon, Joe (Amy) Henderson of Flat Rock, Deona (Brian) Smith of Waldron and Erin Pitts of Columbus, and 7 Great Grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a son; Philip Raymond Henderson, a grandson Mark Alan Henderson, 2 brothers and a sister.
