D. Rex Deiwert, 91, of Hope passed away Wednesday February 6, 2008 at 11:00 am in Columbus, IN.
He was retired from his own businesss, Deiwert's TV Service.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hope, a 50 year member of the Mason's, and a member of the Lion's Club.
He served in the Army- Air Corp. during World World II.
Born on November 18, 1916 in Lafayette, IN, Rex was the son of Harry and Blanche McNight Deiwert. He married Mary Margaret Burney on August 11, 1940 in Indianapolis, IN.
The funeral will be conducted on Sunday, February 10 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Hope in Hope with the Revs. Mark Walker and Tim Dillingham officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 4-8 at Norman Funeral Home in Hope and from 1-2 on Sunday. Burial will be at the Hope Moravian Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the First Baptist Church of Hope Building Fund.
Survivors include his wife; children, Sara(Dwight) Carter and Cindy(Mike) Gosney of Hope, Jane(Jim) Sturgis of Louden, TN,and John(Connie) Deiwert of Bargersville; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Margaret Ann Allen.
