Daniel Johnson-Bey, 60, of Columbus, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Born on February 17, 1963 in Shelbyville, Daniel was the son of Warren "Moe" and Delores Burks-Bey. He married Teodora Garcia on June 21, 2006.

Before retirement, Daniel was employed at NTN Driveshaft. He was a member of the Moorish Science Temple of America. Daniel enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, bowling, and playing golf.

Survivors include his wife, Teodora of Columbus; mother, Delores Burks-Bey of Hope; children, Arnold (Emillee Howard) Palacios of Franklin, Lidia (Ben Woodcock) Palacios of Chicago, and Inri Palacios of Franklin; grandchild, Mateo Hinojosa; siblings, Rebekah Johnson-Bey of Hope and Joseph Johnson of Vallonia, IN; step-sister, Ingrid (Burt) Jackson of Virginia; nieces, Iesha Johnson of Miami, FL and Jasmin Johnson of Bloomington; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Warren "Moe" Burks-Bey.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 15 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at the Moorish Science Temple, 4182 N County Road 700 E Hope, IN with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery.
