Daniel Lee Shoaf, 53 formerly of Hope passed away at 3:30 pm on February 24, 2009 at St. Vincent North Hospital in Indianapolis. Born on October 8,1955 in Columbus, IN, he was the son of Irvin "Ike" and Patricia A. Duggan Shoaf. Survivors include his wife, Lorie E.(Hiatt) Shoaf of Seymour; his father Ike and step-mother, Mary T. "Resa" Shoaf of Okeechobee, Fla.; a son, Lee Alexander Shoaf of Kissimmee, Fla.; sisters, Helen M.(Jay) Wingham of Hope and Lisa Ann (Paul) Gowesky of Bradenton, Fla. and lifelong friends Tim Herron of Hope and Robert Phares of Clifford. He had been self-employed in Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. He was a 1973 graduate of Hauser High School and a graduate of ITT Technical Institute. Danny had a great sense of humor and lived his life to the extreme doing what he loved. He had many great adventures in fishing, golfing and boating. Being the love of each others lives, Danny and Lorie were married on June 27, 2008. A celebration of Danny's life will be held Saturday March 7 from 5:00- 8:00 pm at the Hope American Legion Hall on Washington St. in Hope. Always wanting to return to Florida where he spent much of his life, Danny will be cremated and taken to the Gulf of Mexico. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia. Danny's passing left a mark on all of those who knew and loved him.
