David R. Harlow, 74, of Taylorsville, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018 at his home.
David retired in 1990 from working as a Lab Technician at Cummins for 30 years.
He enjoyed fishing, going to garage sales and flea markets, watching NASCAR, and playing his guitar. David loved to sit on his front porch and talk to the neighbors. He enjoyed taking naps in his recliner with his dog, Tillie.
Born on June 14, 1944 in Columbus, David was the son of Gilbert and Virginia Nelson Harlow. He married the love of his life, Janet Bierlein on December 11, 1964, and they spent 54 years of marriage together.
Survivors include his wife, Janet of Taylorsville; children, Teresa (Robert) James of Columbus, Sheila Harlow (Sweet) of Columbus, and David S. Harlow of Taylorsville; grandchildren, Aliah Ritter, Callie Ritter, and Adora Sweet, all of Columbus; and great-grandchilden, Garrett and Sebastian Lunsford, both of Columbus.
David is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Harlow.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 13 at 2 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home. Visitation will be from noon until time of service. A private family inurnment will follow at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society or Humane Society.
