David Scott Smith, 51, of Hope, died Monday April 8, 2019 in Liberty, KY. while visiting family.
Born January 31, 1968 in Orlando, FL. David was the son of Comer Smith and Alvera Bosco Neal.
He married Nancy Goode August 14, 1989 and she survives.
He had been self-employed as a tree trimmer.
David had attended Hope Wesleyan Church. He loved fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting and doing other things outside.
The funeral will be Monday at 12:00 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home with Larry Coon officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at Hawcreek Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be donated to Norman Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses for David.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Hope; children, Alisha (Anthony) Phillips of North Vernon and Nick Smith (Brenna Poole) of Hope; grandchildren, Alayna, Ceirra, Jace, Natalie and Brianna Phillips of North Vernon and Jane Huber of Hope; siblings, Barbara (Will) Frost of St. Cloud, FL., Donna (Mike) Harden of Hope, Diane (Don) Clark of Columbus and Lowell Smith of Columbus and several nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Alvera Neal; father, Comer Smith; sisters, Susie Estep and Karen Ogle and nephew, Eric Smith.
