Don E. Trimnell, 79, of Hope, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis.

Born on December 28, 1944 in Shelbyville, Don was the son of Arthur and Florence Simmons Trimnell. He married Shirley Ping Greenlee on September 30, 1989, and she preceded him in death on March 3, 2022.

Don served in the National Guard. He was a member of Who So Ever Will church.

Don enjoyed mowing, farming, doing yardwork, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his son, Scott Trimnell of Avon, Indiana; step-sons, Anthony (Carmen) Greenlee of Marietta, GA and Brian (Lana) Greenlee of Hope; grandchildren, Kyle Trimnell of Dayton, OH, Matthew Greenlee of Atlanta, GA, Ian (Amber) Greenlee of Acworth, GA, Morgan (Yana) Greenlee of Hope, Mikala (Darren) Brown of Hope, Maclyn (Joel) Benedict of Hope, Michal Greenlee of Hope, and Brandon (Danielle) Craig of Canton, GA; and four great-grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Shirley.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 15 at 2 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Douglas officiating. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until time of service on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hope Moravian Cemetery.
