The ashes of Donald Eugene and Carol Jane Wasson (Overstreet) will be interned in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Flat Rock, Indiana at 1:00 pm on Saturday July 16, 2022.  Their hearts never left Indiana.

Don was born near Waldron, Indiana in 1925, to Howard and Sarah Wasson. Carol was born in Indianapolis, IN in 1927 to Hobart and Florence Overstreet. Don left Indiana in 1943 to join the U.S. Navy where he served as a Navy Corpsman during WWII. After the war, Don graduated from both Indiana University and St. Louis University with a degree in Physical Therapy. Don and Carol met soon after and were married on August 20 ^th , 1948. He would later graduate from Northwestern University with a master's degree in business administration.

They had three children together, Janet (deceased), Philip, and Jeffrey.  They had a loving, close relationship that lasted over 60 years. This poem by Anne Bradberry describes their love for each other.

"If ever two were one, then surely, we.
If ever man were loved by wife, then thee;
If ever wife was happy in a man,
Compare with me ye women if you can."
