Dorothy E. Hunter, 93 of Hope passed away Sunday February 20, 2011
at 1:45 am at Columbus Regional Hospital.
There will be a graveside service with Pastor Barry Goodman officiating
Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
Dorothy was a member of the St. Louis Crossing Independent Methodist
Church. She loved to knit, quilt, read and play skip-bo. She was a very loving
mother, grandma and friend.
Memorial contributions may be donated to Hospice of South Central Indiana
or St. Louis Crossing Independent Methodist Church through the funeral home and

Born on November 5, 1917 in Bartholomew County, Dorothy was the daughter of
Jay and Hazel Oaks Lain. She married Joseph "Bud" Hunter August 22, 1938 and he
preceded her in death June 20, 1984.
Survivors include sons, Jim (Jeanne) Hunter of Hartsville, and Allan (Diana) Hunter
of Clifford; grandchildren, Jay Hunter of Crawfordsville, Colin (Becky) Hunter of Hope,
Amber Crawford of Columbus, Rita (Jake) Croucher of Ninevah, Matt (Kathi) Robertson
of Hope, Jeremy (Sabrina) Hunter of Clifford and Amanda (Eric) Harper of Hope; great-
grandchildren, James Hunter, Sean and Elizabeth Crawford, Christian and Joseph Hunter,
Shelbi Robertson and Waylon Harper, and a brother, Robert (Velma) Lain of Mt. Auburn.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Bonita Robertson;
a brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Maxine Lain; a sister and brother-in-law, Lorrene and
Floyd Henderson.
