Dotty Jo Hill, 74, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 8:20 a.m.

Born on November 18, 1945 in Clifford, Dotty was the daughter of Alfred and Dorothy Johnson McCarty. She married Jerry Hill on December 24, 1964, and he preceded her in death on February 7, 2018.

Dotty enjoyed working in her flower garden and reading. She enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include sons, Jerry Hill and Troy (Mindy) Hill, both of Columbus; grandchildren, Samantha (Pat) McGill of Indianapolis, Clint (Hannah) Hill of Georgia, Cody Hill of Columbus, Noah Hill of North Vernon, and Aubrey Hill of North Vernon; great-grandchildren, Ada McGill of Indianapolis and Dansby Hill of Georgia; and siblings, Carolyn (Darrel) Burbridge of Hope, Rosie Moss of Columbus, and Randy (Barb) McCarty of Hartsville.

Dotty is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry; brothers, Jerry, Larry, and Terry McCarty; and sisters, Sharon Rea and Sherry McCarty.

A private family service will be held at Norman Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
