Obituary

Douglas Q. Harper, 49 of North Vernon passed away Monday July 20, 2020 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Born January 22, 1971 in Columbus, Doug was the son of Gordon and Mary Louise Compton Harper.

He had previously attended The Ridge.  Doug had a love for music, loved playing the drums and DJ-ing.

He was mechanically inclined to fix things.

Doug is survived by children, Tylor Harper of Elizabethtown, Karlee Harper of Elizabethtown, Owen Harper of Mt. Vernon, Talonna Hart, Natasha Hart, Kailey Hart and Makenzie Hart, all of North Vernon;

Siblings, Bill (Becky) Harper of Columbus, Joyce (Carroll "Cookie") Stroup of Proctor, OK, Danny (Bonita) Harper of Columbus and Rick (Liz) Harper of Columbus; fiance' Tonya Hart of North Vernon and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Doug will be Friday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home.  Due to the Covid-19 restrictions a private funeral service will be held.  Cremation is planned following the service.

When attending visitation please follow social distancing guidelines and a mask is recommended.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Norman Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.  The funeral home accepts cash, checks or money orders and they can be dropped off or mailed to the funeral home at 604 Main St., Hope, IN 47246.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Mary Louise and a sister-in-law, Jeanette Harper.
