June was retired from Hamilton Cosco. She was a member of Hartsville Methodist Church and Hartsville Home Ec Club. She loved her dog, Puppy and enjoyed country music and horses.

Born on April 23, 1928 in Hope, June was the daughter of Charles and Ruby Scott Bell. She married Delbert DeSpain and he preceded her in death. She then married Duane McKay and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include grandsons, Jason DeSpain of Hartsville and Justin (Casey) DeSpain of Elizabethtown; great-grandchildren, Anthony and Keller DeSpain, both of Hartsville; and daughters-in-law, Vickie DeSpain of Hartsville and Kathy DeSpain of Columbus.

June is preceded in death by her parents; sons, Steven and Rodney DeSpain; and siblings, Charles Bell, Vada Lunsford, Norma Bennett, and Dale Bell.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 7 at 10:30 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.
