Obituary

Marie Kemp Boggs, 98, formerly of Liberty, IN, entered Heaven on Saturday, December 16, 2017.

Born December 1, 1919 in Jennings County, Marie was the daughter of Curtis and Lottie Ewing Kemp. She married George Boggs on March 15, 1941. They were married 69 years before his passing in May 2010. Together they managed the Liberty Sunoco before they were elected to serve as Sheriff and Matron at the Union County Jail. Tender hearted, Marie was known to feed prisoners at the family dinner table. Before relocating to the Indianapolis area, Marie and George retired from Brookville Lake Resort, but she spent most of her life as a homemaker.

Marie's talents were many, but she was known for her cooking, especially her potato salad, homemade noodles and "special recipe" sugar cream pie. She also enjoyed her flowers.

Marie is survived by her five children, Janet McCullough of Noblesville, Larry (Linda Keleey) Boggs of Riverview, FL, Dana (Ron Conner) Williams of Franklin, Terry (Terry) Boggs of Carmel, and Randy Boggs of Greenwood; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Clinton Kemp, and great-grandson, Ethan Boggs.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20 at Norman Funeral Home, 604 Main Street Hope, IN with Pastor Andy Kinsey officiating. Burial will follow at Hope Moravian Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society.
