Edna May Chastain, 86 of Columbus, finished her
earthly journey with her Lord on Wednesday June 24, 2015
at Hickory Creek Nursing Home where she resided the past
two years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas
and Irma Krauss Wagner;brothers, Paul and Chester
Bushbaum; a niece, Carolyn Bushbaum and a nephew,
Dean Bushbaum.
Married on June 17, 1961, her husband and one true
love of fifteen years, Robert Chastain preceded her in
death in 1976.
She is survived by children, Rebekah Chastain of Columbus,
Martha (Mark) Moody of Louisville, KY, Mark (Elizabeth "Ela" )
Chastain of Greenwood and Julia (Tim) Sturgill of Flat Rock;
grandchildren, Jason and Lydia Chastain of Greenwood and
Todd Sturgill of Flat Rock; nephew, Raymond Bushbaum of CA.
Born September 9, 1928 in Dayton, OH and worked for
several years there at the National Cash Register Co. She
also worked in Indiana for Southwestern School Corporation
and retired from Meridian Insurance in 1994. She continued
to work part time for The Goldsmith Group until 2008.
She loved music and painting, but mostly loved Bible
Study and devoted her life to the Lord and the promises for
all mankind in His coming kingdom.
She was a member of Hope Bible Students of Ecclesia.
The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Norman Funeral
Home in Hope with Elder David Doran officiating. Visitation
will be Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday one hour
prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at
Hope Moravian Cemetery.
