Elizabeth "Jean" Eakle, 76, of Hope passed away Wednesday September 17, 2025 at Miller's Merry Manor.

Born February 14, 1949 in Columbia, KY she was the daughter of Finnis Burris and LouAnn Cowan Burris.  She married Earl D. Eakle December 29, 1965 and he preceded her in death April 14, 2003.

Visitation for Jean will be Friday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Norman Funeral Home.  A funeral will follow at 1:00 pm. and will be officiated by Clifton Cowan.  Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Millers Merry Manor activities fund.

In her younger years Jean enjoyed quilting, bingo, playing cards, watching NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon.

Jean is survived by grandchildren, Tabatha Tallent (Matthew) of Hope, Alexis Tallent of Hope and Dustin Eakle of Columbus; sisters, Geneva Hadley and Bertha Bailey (Harold) and several nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by children, Linda Faye Tungett and Dennis Ray Eakle; siblings, Faye King, William "Logie" Burris and Wanda Roberts.
