Emma Kathryn Jones, 87 of Hope, died Thursday July 9, 2009 at 7:35 pm at Ashford Place in Shelbyville.
She was retired from Arvins.
She was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church.
She was an avid thimble collector, had a doll collection and loved doing jigsaw puzzles and reading.
The funeral will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 pm at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Rev. Stephen Pumphrey officiating.
Calling will be from noon until funeral time on Sunday. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be donated to Hospice of South Central Indiana, 2626 E. 17th St. Col., IN 47201 or the Hope Food bank.
Born on February 9, 1922 in Hope, IN, Ms. Jones was the daughter of Edgar A. and Mayme Jones.
Survivors include; nephew, W.A. "Bill" Lorts Jr. of St. Louis, MO; niece, Mary Lou (Garry) Estes of Shelby County; great niece, Sonja (Steve) Jaggers of Greenfield; nephew, John (Ruth) Wilson of Hope; great niece, Natalee Wilson of Hope; great-great nephew, Josh Beeker; several cousins in Ohio and two very dear friends, Imogene Berkenstock and Pauline Fox, both of Columbus.
Ms. Jones was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Flora Lorts and Edna Wilson.
