Francis M. Loper, 84 of Greensburg, formerly of Hartsville, died Tuesday April 22, 2008 at Hospice of South Central Indiana at 8:10 am.
He was a machine repairman for Reliance Electric.
He was a member of the Newbern United Methodist Church. He was in the U.S. Army during WWII. He enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling with his wife. He especially loved spending time with family and friends.
The funeral will be conducted Saturday April 26 at 1:00 pm at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Revs. Gary Houston and Larry McIntosh officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 and from noon until 1:00 on Sat. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites. Born on September 24, 1923 in Rockford, IN, Mr. Loper was the son of Shirley and Ruby A. Hiatt Loper. He married Wyvonne A. Oliver on October 9, 1942 in Hartsville, IN and she survives.
Other survivors include; a daughter, Cheryl (Dean) Henderson of Greensburg; sons, Butch (Alvinia) Loper of Scipio and Richard (Deborah) Loper of Columbus; grandchildren, Erin (Eric) Yount, Audra (Tim) Rhoades, Kyle Loper, Caleb (Allison) Loper and Clare Loper and 8 great grandchildren and 1 brother, Kenneth Loper of Hartsville.
He was preceded in death by; a sister, Opal Harris and brothers, Morris and Donald Loper.
