Franklin Dale McQueen, 86 of Hope passed away Wednesday
December 18, 2013 at Kindred Transitional Care Center.
He was retired after 19 years at Cummins Engine Company and
10 years at Reeves Pulley Company.
He was a member of the Chapel of the Good Shepherd Church and
the American Legion and served in the U.S. Army. He was an avid
St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed mushroom hunting and gardening.
The funeral will be
Sunday at 2:00 p.m
. at The Chapel of the Good
Shepherd Church withRev. Bill Tennyson officiating. Visitation will be
Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m
. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope and 1 hour
prior to service time on sunday at the church. Burial will be at Hope
Moravian Cemetery with military graveside rites.
Memorial contributions may be donated to The Chapel of the Good
Shepherd Church through the funeral home.
Born July 6, 1927 in Bartholomew County, Mr. McQueen was the son
of William "Doc" and Carmen Steele McQueen. He married Betty A. Waltz October 8, 1950 at Amity Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Hope; children Alan(Brenda) McQueen of
Terre Haute, Patricia Ann(Peter) Carlton-McQueen of Albaquerqe, New Mexico,David Lee(Annette) McQueen of Flat Rock, Cindy Lou McQueen of San Diego,Tami McQueen of Hope and James(Teresa) McQueen of Hartsville; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a brother Harold Lee McQueen of Greensburg; sisters Wanita(Robert) Weddle Sr. of Shelbyville, Rita Mae McQueen and Helen Nelson, both of Hollywood, Fl.; a step brother Donny(Gail) McQueen of Edinburgh and a step sister Mary(Royce) Glick of Newbern.
Mr. McQueen was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter
Marchetta Ann.
