George Darby Owens, 37, of Hope, passed away Friday July 16, 2021 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Born September 14, 1983 in Columbus, he was the son of Craig and Deborah Burris Owens.

Darby was owner and operator of Owens Lawncare.

He enjoyed baseball and was a big Chicago Cubs fan.  He was very good at the computer.  He loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his mother Deborah of Hope; a son, Jayden Owens of Marion, IN; brothers, Dan Fleener of Hope, David (Becky) Fleener of Scipio, Tony Shreve of Columbus, Kelby (Liz) Owens of Greensburg; a sister, Tina Kerr of Columbus; several foster brothers that he loved; a step daughter, Charla Theel; a grandmother, Jean Owens of Venus, FL; nieces and nephews, Dylan Fleener, Jared Fleener, Patricia Boston, Luke and Nick Owens, Zoey and Zayden Shreve and Sarah, Chloe and Sophie Shreve; aunts and uncles, Pete Burris of Columbus, Tami Weaver and Gerri Owens, both of Venus, FL and Lisa Owens of Columbus.

The funeral for Darby will be Wednesday at noon at Norman Funeral Home in Hope.  Visitation will be from 10 am to noon before the service on Wednesday.

Darby was preceded in death by his father, Craig Owens; grandparents, Garvis and Lura Burris and Russell Owens.
