Gertrude Elizabeth (Borntreger) Herr, 89, of Edinburgh, passed away on Saturday July 9, 2022.

She was born on July 9, 1933 to the late Moses and Elizabeth (Hochstetler) Borntreger in Vernon Township, Mercer County, PA. She is preceded in death by her husband Harold Leroy Herr in 2008.

Gertrude loved babies and children, caring not only for her own, but also those of other young parents for many years. She loved to send cards and letters to those in need of encouragement. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior, and she was a member of the Haw Creek Mennonite Church at the time of her passing.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Haw Creek Mennonite Church, Homeview Health and Rehabilitation Center, and Paradigm Living Concepts for their love and care of Gertrude.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 13 at 2:00 pm at Haw Creek Mennonite Church 15531 St Rd 9, Hope. The ministry of the church will officiate the funeral. Burial will follow in the Haw Creek Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may call at Haw Creek Mennonite Church from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday July 12, 2022.
