Sgt. Glenda Joann Pappas, 49 of Edinburgh died at 6:26 p.m. Thursday April 30, 2009 at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. Sgt. Pappas was a U.S. Army Title 10 soldier serving at Camp Atterbury. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Born in Columbus Oct. 18, 1959 , she was the daughter of Alonzo and Edna Zuschalag Griner. She married Donald Pappas Sr and he survives . Other survivors include a son Donald Pappas Jr. of Edinburgh; a daughter Jana Papps of Columbus; grandchildren Wyatt and Alexandra Pappas; brothers and sisters Terry Griner of Grammer, Elaine Gardner, Gary (Jean) Griner and Steve Griner all of Columbus, Sam Griner of Greenfield and Evelyn Addicott of Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Gloria Sanders and Nancy Vincent. A memorial service will be Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Camp Atterbury Chapelwith Chaplin Major Brown officiating. Burial will be at later date at Hope Moravian Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bartholomew Co. American Cancer Soc.
