Grover E. Lucas, 89 of Columbus died Wednesday Dec. 19 at 4:55 pm
at Columbus Health and Rehab Center.
Mr Lucas formerly worked in the produce dept .of the Jay -C Food Store and the Golden Foundry. He was a member of the Shiloh Seperate Baptist Church.
The funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Norman Funeral Home with Rev. Wes Jones officiating. Calling will be on Sat from 10:00 a.m. unitl service time
at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hawcreek cemetery.
Mr. Lucas was born in Brown County on Sept. 6, 1918 the son of
Waltz and Mertie Moore Lucas. He married Fern Harter on Jan. 14, 1949 and she preceded
him in death.
Survivors include a daughter Linda Mouser of Columbus, grandchildren
Sherry Pennington of Morristown, Gail Burton of Edinburgh, Laurie Shelton and Michael
Carmer both of Columbus and Robin Hawkins of Westport, ten great grandchildren and one
great great grandchild, a sister Goldie Simpson of Brown County.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a grandson Jeremiah Carmer,
brothers John,Dewey and George Lucas and sisters Mary Harden and Martha Wells.
