Hazel P. Starnes, 92 of Elizabethtown passed away at 6:12 a.m. Friday April 29, 2011 at Coverd Bridge Health Campus at Seymour
Mrs. Starnes had worked Arvin Industies and G. C. Murphy Store both in Columbus. She attended Hope United Methodist Church and loved to quilt and flowers and her grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with the Rev. Larry Tingle officiating. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association or Amercian Heart Fund.
Born at Norman in Lawrence Co. on June 28, 1918, Mrs. Starnes was the daughter of Albert and Effie Mullins Branaman. She married Earl H. Starnes on Oct. 19, 1936 and he preceded in death on Dec. 12, 1996.
Survivors include a daughter Berniece (Myron) Smith of Seymour; a son Thomas (Charlene) Starnes of Columbus; grandchildren Teresa (Scott) Arnett of Freetown, Myron Smith Jr. of Columbus, Carolyn ( Mike) Hatfield of Seymout and Stephen (Connie) Starnes of North Vernon; greatchildren Matthew, Cara, Amber Dawn, Ashley, Abigail, Natasha, Megan, Sydney and Alyshia and a great great grandson Treyton.
Mrs. Starnes was preceded in death by her husband , a son Franklin Starnes; brothers Oris, Ernest, John, Everett, Herman; and Sisters Flossie, Alma, Nettie, and Letha.
