Helen Sharp Burney Galbraith, 97 of Hope passed away
Saturday January 1, 2011 at 12:02 am at Miller's Merry Manor.
She was a retired school teacher.
She was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church,
the Retired Teacher's Association, Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority
and Kill Kare Club.
She loved traveling, flower & herb gardening, music & art.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00 pm at the Hope United
Methodist Church with Revs. Marianne Hawkins and Barry Goodman
officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00 pm until service time.
Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be donated to the Hope United Methodist
Church.
Born on January 4, 1913 in Westport, Helen was the daughter of
Walter M. and Ethel M. Curry Sharp. She first married Edwin Burney and he
preceded her in death in 1951 and then she married Kemp Galbraith and
he preceded her in death in 1963.
She is survived by a son, Edwin W. Burney of Hope and several nieces
and nephews.
She was preceded in death by; her parents; her two husbands; brothers,
Paul, Gene, Leon and Robert Sharp and sisters, Edith Burton, Mary Harper,
and Rachel Alexander.
