Obituary

Hope Elaine Best was born on July 3, 1916 in
Hope, IN, the second child of Paul Trevelyan
Best and Mary Thrapp Best.
Her early years were spent in Winston
Salem, NC where she was a student at Central
School and at R.J. Reynolds High School
class of
1933. She graduated from The University of
Michigan in 1937.
In June 1942 she married Captain Edward
E. Lull, U.S. Navy.
For 18 years she worked at the Indiana
State Highway Commission, continuously
developing the official state road map.
On retirement she returned to the family
home in Hope, which was built by Rev. Francis
Holland in 1879, and has continuously been
owned by a member of the family, currently
Mrs. Lull's cousin, Martha Bayless.
Mrs. Lull was a member of The Hope
Moravian Church. She will be buried in the
family plot in the Hope Moravian Graveyard.
She leaves her son, Terry Lull;
daughter-in-law Leonor Lull and granddaughter,
Corinne Lull of Miami, FL., grandson Anthony
Lull and granddaughter-in-law Krinda Lull of
Port St. Lucie, Florida, and step-son, Richard
Dixon Lull of Fort Washington, Pennsylvania.
Calling hours for Mrs. Lull will be on Friday
from 5 to 7 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in
Hope. There will be a graveside service on
Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Hope Moravian
Graveyard with Pastor Jeff Van Orden officiating.
