Irene Katherine Nading, 90 formerly of Hope died at 6:05 p.m. Thursday Feb. 14 2013 at Four Seasona Health Care Facility.
Irene was a reitred homemaker, helping her husband, John in a secretarial/consultant role in the early years of establishing their business, Nading Mechanical.
Irene attended St. Peter's Lutheran School and graduated from Clifford High School in 1940. She was a member of the Hope Moravian Church and a former member of the Kola Sunday School Class. In her retirement years, she and her husband enjoyed very much playing tennis at Riverwoods Park near Fort Myers, Florida. Irene was an avid fan of professional tennis, baseball and basketball. Watching IU basketball was also a favorite past time. She often surprised other family members with her uncanny knowledge of players, coaches, and team records. She was also a skilled craftsman and produced beautiful works of stained glass that she gifted to children and grandchildren on special
occasions.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11;00 a.m. Wednesday at Hope Moravian Church with Rev. Jeff Van Orden and Dave Winters officiating. Calling will be on Tuesday evening at the church from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday until service time. Burial wiil be at Hope Moravian Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Perpetual Care Fund of the Hope Moravian Cemetery, the Building Fund of the Hope Moravian Church, Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or the donor's choice of chartites.
Born in Columbus April 3, 1922, Irene was the daughter of Walter and Katie Hoeltke Finke. She married John R. Nading on April 5, 1942. He preceded her in death on April 20. 2004.
Survivors include daughters, Delores Ault of Hope and Janet Smith of Columbus; sons Morris (Cheryl) Nading of Hope, Paul (Pam) Nading of Hope, Steve (Karen) Nading of Hope, Tim Nading of Columbus, and John E. Nading of Hope; a sister Dorothy (Vernon) Cox of Columbus; brothers, Harold ( Mary Margaret) Finke of Hope, Irvin Finke of Columbus, Richard (Jackie) Finke of Hope and Joe (Dottie) Finke of Columbus; sister-in-law Jeanette Finke of Hope; 20 grandchildren. 36 great-grandchildren,
and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, her parents. a son-in-law Frank Ault and brothers Marshall Finke, Eugene Finke and Herbert Finke.
