Iva Lorene Brown, 98 of Columbus passed away Sunday
October 4, 2015 at Kindred Transitional Care in Columbus.
Before retirement, she was a housewife and a caretaker.
She enjoyed scrapbooking and coloring books.
Born October 28, 1916, in Macomb, MO Iva was the
daughter of David and Sarah Haden Norcross. She married
Lloyd R. Brown in 1937 and he preceded her in death in 1961.
Iva was a kind and gentle person, a loving wife, mother
and grandmother. She liked to help people. She read the
Bible often and believed in a better life after this one.
There will be visitation from 2 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday
and a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. with John Sichting
officiating.  Cremation will follow the service and burial
will be at Garland Brook Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be donated to the
Alzheimer's Association or donor's choice of charity.
Survivors include; grandchildren, Lloyd N. Brown of
Louisville, Ky, Larry E. Brown, Steven Ray Brown, Cindy
Sue Brown and Benjamin Brown, all of Jeffersonville,
Roxann Storms of Texas; several great grandchildren;
a brother, Norman D. Norcross of Columbus and a
nephew, J.D. Muir of Columbus.
Iva was preceded in death by her parents, husband,
a son, Larry Brown in 1989, a brother, Ray Norcross
and sisters, Lena Anne Muir and Faye Norcross.
