Jack E. Trowbridge, 89 of Hope, passed away Friday November 13, 2009 at his home under Hospice Care.
He had worked for 50 years as a salesman in several industries.
He served in the Army Air Corp in WWII as a POW and received a purple heart.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hope where he had previously been a deacon and served as an associate pastor. He had been pastor at Liberty Baptist Church from June 19, 1977 - Jan. 31, 1982. He was involved in Christians In Action and the American Legion in Hope.
He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
The funeral will be Wednesday November 18 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Hope with Tim Dillingham officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 at the church. Burial will be at Hawcreek Cemetery north of Hope. Arrangements were made by Norman Funeral Home.

Born October 11, 1920 in Vallonia, IN, Mr. Trowbridge was the son of Harry and Nellie Weddell Trowbridge. He married Jean Gillespie June 26, 1949 in Waynedale, IN.
Survivors include his wife of Hope; children, Linda(Tony) Hillen and Ed(Nancy) Trowbridge of Columbus, Todd(Teresa) Trowbridge of Hope, Jay(Kathy) Trowbridge of Flat Rock and Therese(Jim) David of Fortville; a sister, Anita McMillan of Vallonia, eleven grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 3 great- great grandchildren.
Mr. Trowbridge was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Lloyd; sisters Ruth and Janette and one great-great grandchild.
