James A. Mertz, 64 of Hope died Saturday March 3, 2012 at
Columbus Regional Hospital.
He had worked as a construction worker.
He was a good mechanic and loved working on cars and fishing.
The viewing will be Tuesday from 4 - 7 pm at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. The funeral will be Wed. at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be donated through the funeral home to help with Mr. Mertz funeral expenses.
Born November 14, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Mr. Mertz was the son of
Henry and Eleanor Beetz Mertz. He married Tina Stunich June 25, 1967 and
she preceded him in death June 26, 1978.
Survivors include children, Lisa (Jack) Myers of Greensburg, Mark (Catherine)
Mertz of Cincinnati, and Tabitha Mertz of Greensburg; stepchildren, Sean Droppelman
of Cincinnati and Laura (Will) Pierce of Cincinnati; several grandchildren; two great
grandchildren; a brother, Henry Mertz Jr. of Cincinnati and sisters, Barbara, Shirley
and Carolyn Mertz all of Cincinnati.
Mr. Mertz was preceded in death by his first wife Tina, his parents; a grandson, Nicholas
Myers and brothers, Fritz, Gary and Buddy Mertz.
