James R. Nielsen, 86, of Hope passed away on Wednesday May 22, 2024 at Miller's Merry Manor in Hope.

Born on November 29, 1937 in Columbus, Jim was the son of Otto and Mildred Bell Nielsen.

Jim enjoyed doing yardwork and gardening.

Survivors include son, Jim (Veronica) Nielsen of Daytona Beach, Florida; step-children, Shirley McKinney and Brian Carr, both of Colorado, and Rick Carr of Arizona; siblings, Wanda Marvin of Ohio, Lawrence Nielsen of Columbus, and Frank Nielsen of California; and several nieces and nephews.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Beverly Birdsall, Janice Allman, and Lonnie Bennett.

Cremation was planned. Inurnment will take place on Thursday, June 13 at 2:30 p.m. at Garland Brook Cemetery.
