Obituary

James Franklin Robertson, 90 of Hope passed away
Thursday May 15, 2014 at Our Hopspice of South Central
Indiana Inpatient Facility.
He was retired from Reliance Electric where he worked
as a Gear Technician.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served during
WWII and The Korean Conflict. He served aboard the U.S.S.
New Jersey.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hope. He
spent most of his time and loved every minute that he spent
with his family. He also loved watching westerns.
The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 pm at Norman Funeral
Home in Hope with Tim Dillingham officiating. Visitation will
be Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 pm and Monday from 10:00am until
service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hope Moravian
Cemetery with military graveside honors.

Born April 1, 1924 in Appalachia, VA, James was the son of
Walter Carl and Nola Mae Holly Robertson. He graduated from
Appalachia High School and then attended Virginia Tech. He
married Violette David March 22, 1946 and she preceded him in
death October of 2005.
Survivors include children, Jim (Sharon) Robertson of North
Vernon, Robyn (Jerry) Sams of Hope and David (Julie) Robertson
of Columbus; grandchildren, Jason Sams and Cindy Sams of Indianapolis,
Shawn (Cathy) Robertson of North Vernon and Tyler Robertson of
Columbus; great grandchildren, Kylie Fulbright of Indianapolis,
Savannah and Olivia Harris of Indianapolis, Jimmy Robertson and
Caleb Fish of North Vernon, Aliyah and Kingston Robertson of
Columbus and Brittany Siebert and Jerrica Sams of Indianapolis;
a sister, Bettye (Ed) DeBerry of Roanoke, VA.
James was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a brother, Holly
Robertson and a grandson, Bryce Robertson.
