Janice L. McMahan, 87, of Columbus, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026 at Hickory Creek at Columbus.

Born on September 8, 1938 in Osgood, IN, Janice was the daughter of Robert and Alice Myer Eulitt. She received her Masters degree in education and spent most of her life teaching. She retired from Hauser High School and also taught at Sylvan Learning Center and taught math at Ivy Tech. Janice spent the weekends working part-time positions at Irwin Union Bank.

She enjoyed quilting, reading, sewing, walking, doing puzzles, and cooking.

Survivors include her children, Suzy McMahon of Bloomington, Jill Moon of Columbus, and John McMahan of Columbus; grandchildren, Jacob Goergen, Josh Goergen, and Billy Moon; and great-granddaughter, Emmalyne Moon.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, and her former husband, John McMahan.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 29 at 2 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until time of service. Due to the impact from the winter storm, Janice's graveside service at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery will take place on Thursday, February 5 at 2 p.m.
