Jimmie Edward Carmer, 74 of Columbus died Saturday Jan. 2, 2010 at 9:30 am at his home.
He was a retired Stationary Transparent Partition Engineer for the City of Chicago.
He enjoyed buggin folks.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 12:00 pm at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. The calling will be Tuesday from 4-8 and Wednesday from 11:00-12:00 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Springer Cemetery in Elizabethtown. Memorial contributions may be donated to Hospice of South Central Indiana. Born on March 27, 1935 in Elizabethtown, IN, Mr. Carmer was the son of Jack and Maggie McKinney Carmer.
Survivors include daughter, Stephanie Kay (Anthony) Carmer of Columbus; a son, Jimmie Edward Carmer II of Columbus; adopted and part of the family, Laura Poupart of Chicago; a brother, Larry L. (Linda) Carmer of Columbus; a sister in law, Dorothy Carmer; his two favorite girls in the world, grandaughters, Laura Kay and LuLu Carmer and former wife and current friend, Brenda Naseef.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Jimmie Jr. and Carl Carmer; sisters, Betty Bass, Retta May Stillabower and Helen Louise Crouch; brothers, Clarence J. Marshall A. and Carl Carmer.
