John C. LaFont, 61, of Hope died Sunday July 28, 2019 at his home.
He was a retired school bus driver with the Bartholomew Consolidated School Cooperation.
Born January 22, 1958 in Duluth, MN, John was the son of Ralph and Carol Psful Hoffer.
He married Debra Long February 14, 1992 and she preceded him in death May 30, 2018. He is survived by his fiancé Debbie Owens of Hope.
Other survivors include step-children, Jason (Stephanie) Long and Wendy Watkins, both of Columbus; step-grandchildren, Danelle Gates, Samantha Long, Noah Long, Rebecca Long and Nicholas Long, all of Columbus; great step-grandchildren, Gabriel Gates, Mikeal Gilbert, Dakota Rothrock and Laila Rothrock; brother, David (Betty) LaFont of Maple, WI.
John's funeral will be Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. at Calvary Nazarene Church, 5400 Rockyford Rd., Columbus, IN 47203. Rev. Paul Blair will officiate the service. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will follow at Flat Rock Cemetery.

John loved NASCAR and woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
