Joseph E. Clouse, 83 of Hope passed away at 11: 33 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 1, 2011 at
Columbus Regional Hospital.
Mr. Clouse had owned Clouse's Sheet Metal Contracting in Hope for many years.
He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers' Local Union No. 20, Hope First Baptist Church , Hope Masonic Lodge.
No 150. and the American Legion.
He was an avid reader and world traveler.. He hiked the Appalachian Trail and
enjoyed many Volkz Marches across the United States. He was a U.S Army veteran of the Korean
War
The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with
the Rev. Mark Walker officiating. Calling hours will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home..Burial
will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery with military graveside rites.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Assoc. or American Cancer Fund.
Mr. Clouse was born in Hope on May 6, 1928 to Elda J. and Nellie Anderson Clouse.
He married Virginia Hitchcock on Sept. 28, 1952 and she preceded him in death in Feb of 2004.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie Clouse ( Colleen Larivee) of Nashville, IN. and Dianna (Jeff) Brodt
of Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Lindsey Martin of Murfreesboro, Tenn and Cody Clouse of
Columbus; great grandchildren, Savannah Gibson and Korben Martin;a sister, Wilma Huntsman of Columbus
and a close friend, Phyllis Westerfield of Columbus.
Mr. Clouse was preceded in death by his parents, his wife , a son David J. Clouse and a brother
Wilbur Clouse.
