Joseph Jr. Wright, 85, of Shelbyville, died Sunday November 25, 2018 at his home.
He had worked as a truck driver for Kokomo Brothers before his retirement.
He was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and the Moose Lodge. He served
in the U.S. Army from 1953 - 1955 during the Korean war.
Joe loved working on vehicles and small engines and welding. He also loved his job
of driving a truck.
Born July 7, 1933, Joe was the son of Joseph W. and Eva Graham Wright. He married Janet Lee
Stiers in December of 1953 and she preceded him in death August 12, 2006. He then married
Phyllis Weaver and she preceded him in death in 2017.
Survivors include, Joe Wright of St. Paul, Joyce (Jesse) Welch of Campbellsville, Ky.,
Jimmy (Rhonda) Wright and Judy Sommersdorf both of Shelbyville; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-
grandchildren; a brother, Jason (Debbie) Wright of lets and sisters, Evelyn Martin of Columbus and
Deana Giles of Letts.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his wives; his son, Jerrald Wright; brothers, John, Jesse,
Jasper, Jerry and Jim Wright and a sister, Anna Hancher.
