Karen S. Lain, 69 of New Albany, formerly of Rugby died March 17, 2012 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center.
She had attended Rugby United Bretheran Church. She loved to make blankets and her grandchildren were the love of her life.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 am at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 - 8 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hawcreek Cemetery north of Hope.
Memorials may be donated to help with Karen's funeral expenses.
Born April 26, 1942 in Columbus, Karen was the daughter of Cecil and Ruth Penrose Whittington. She married Chuck Lain on March 20, 1962 and he preceded her in death on August 23, 1987.
Survivors include children, Lori (James) Martin of New Albany, Charles (Gayle) Lain of Lanesville and Stacie (Richard) Hibbs of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Angie Mullins, Aimee Bottoms, Anna Bottoms, Charlene Piper, Christina Piper, Caren Piper and Dawson Carver; a sister, Nancy (Jerry) Johnson of Florida and brothers, Tom Whittington of Florida and Arnold Heck of Columbus.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a daughter, Teresa Lain Coles and a sister, Judy Heck.
