Katherine "Kate" Perry Miller, 39, of Columbus, went to her heavenly home August 14, 2012, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.     Mrs. Miller was born in Bartholomew County on June 15, 1973. She is survived by her husband, Robert Kevin Miller; her parents, Richard L. and Anita M. Fortmeyer Perry of Columbus; her brothers, Daniel "Mack" Perry of Columbus and Joshua Lain Perry of Elizabethtown; nephews, Blaine Daniel Mack Perry of Columbus and Cody Robert Miller of Columbus; nieces, Catie Ellen and Celsie Michelle Miller, both of Hope; a brother-in-law, Ronald Lee Miller of Taylorsville; and a godchild, Cooper Perry Lykins of Hope

Kate recently had been employed by Hospice of South Central Indiana. She was a lifelong member of Faith Lutheran Church in Columbus and was also attending St. Peter's Lutheran Church and had a close relationship with her Lord.     Kate had been active in 4-H in her younger years. Her interests included art, cooking, hunting and helping on the family farm with her dad ,brothers and husband Bob. She could be found wherever her Dad was working, whether handing him bolts for corn bin construction, putting up hay or disking in the springtime.

Kate loved her and her husband Bob's new country place and she enjoyed making a home for him. She enjoyed very much their trips to Florida and loved her family and spent as much time as possible with them. Her nieces and nephews were very dear to her heart. She cherished her friendship with Becky, whom she called her "sister."

The funeral will be conducted at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 719 Fifth St., on Monday, August 20, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mark Teike officiating. Calling will be Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope and also on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery

Memorials contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana , Bartholomew County Chapter of the American Cancer Society or St. Peter's Lutheran School.

Kate was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Perry and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Fortmeyer; her mother-in-law, Martha Miller; and a great-aunt, Wilma Thomas.
